You can't use someone else's save file because Steam runs a profile check and won't recognize a save file that doesn't match your Steam user data. There's no way, unless you can somehow hex edit or hack a downloaded save file to rewrite the corresponding data to match your own Steam data.

I am the true originator of the Cookie Demon theory on the SH2 and 3 boards. But when I try load a downloaded save it prompts me with the "Cannot use on another profile" message. I know Motorstorm PR locks out cross profile saves yet the first game doesn't; so it's possible RE5 is the same.

But the fact there are quite a few uploaded saves makes me wonder why, if in fact you cannot use them? But they're unavailable ATM and have the version only anyway, so no online. I actually got this version because of Excella and Mercs, not for the ho hum story.

Got it on PC also and playing through 'vanilla' sans mods makes the proposition even more onerous. Just want confirmation on whether saves a transferable so I don't waste time speed-running on amateur for nothing. As of right now there is no way to copy the game save to another storage device.

NB: I'm at Amateur currently. No more stress or nerves - everything can be fixed now that you have a Save Game for any of your games. Are you a huge fan of some game?
